As families around the world prepare to celebrate Mother’s Day, one Trinidad and Tobago mother is fighting for more time with her children.

Forty-three-year-old Rohini Choutee, a mother of two daughters, has been diagnosed with Primary Mediastinal Large B-Cell Lymphoma, an aggressive form of Non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma. After months of chemotherapy, doctors say her best chance at survival is now a stem cell transplant abroad, a procedure unavailable in Trinidad and Tobago.
