legacy filesThe Legacy Files is a documentary series preserving the voices, memories and life stories of elderly people in Trinidad and Tobago through intimate first-person storytelling.

What does a lifetime of memories sound like?

In the first episode of The Legacy Files, Bads Kallicharan reflects on the experiences that shaped his life, from childhood memories and family struggles to love, loss, survival and the changing face of Trinidad and Tobago.

This documentary series is dedicated to preserving the voices and personal histories of elderly people through intimate, first-person storytelling. There is no narration, no scripts and no retelling through anyone else’s perspective. Just real people sharing the moments that defined them in their own words.

Episode 1 explores themes of resilience, memory, community and legacy while offering a rare and deeply personal look into a generation whose stories are often left undocumented.

The Legacy Files aims to create a living archive of Caribbean lives, culture and memory before those stories disappear with time.
